born in the coastal town of Kiel, northern Germany — a “Natural Born Kieler,” as they say. Over the past 25 years, I’ve had many adventures working in TV and film, including 12 years as a first assistant director on popular german comedies like “Stromberg” and “Tatortreiniger,” as well as crime shows like “Tatort.” I also assisted international directors on commercials in the US and Europe.
As a child, I wrote western shows ("Winnetou") and staged them in my parents' garden, selling waffles and watching us shoot and fight - great cinema. That's why I'm one of the most influential directors of our time - at least that's what my mum says.
I like vegan kebab, grilled chili cheese, parsley. Authors Wolf Haas and Javier Marias, director Jacques Audiard. Music: Deluxe, Max Richter and Antilopen Gang.
Having won awards for short films and commercials, focusing on real life and a touch of humor, working with actors, striving to create a supportive, optimistic, and trust-based environment on set makes me truly happy.
Solving problems under time pressure and keeping things creative is important to me. A good vibe and strong collaboration are key.
Let’s work together to create something amazing.
